     The following process should be followed for selection of Research Mentors and Projects.

1.  Students should search the list of available Research Mentors.  This list provides the names, contact information and brief research descriptions for faculty who are interested in serving as mentors.

2.  Students may also search for faculty mentors through the COM Departmental web pages which are linked from the COM Home Page, or through the search engine at the COM IDP web page.

3.  Having identified possible mentors, students meet with Dr. Sumners or another member of the Oversight Committee to discuss their choices.

4.  Students are then encouraged to meet with possible faculty mentors to discuss research projects, and come to an agreement.

5.  Students inform Dr. Sumners of their choice for a Research Mentor.
